3. Seasonal Operations
3.1 Winter Operations
Cross-country flights will be permitted down to -250 Celsius or -130 Fahrenheit at the instructor’s discretion.
Good judgment SHOULD be exercised when choosing appropriate winter clothing. All Aviation Science students are required to have adequate hats, footwear, and gloves in the aircraft for all flights.
Doors SHALL be installed at temperatures equal to or less than 100 Celsius or 500 Fahrenheit, for all solo and dual flights.
3.2 Summer Operations
Particular attention SHOULD be paid to density altitude, take-off, and climb performance.
Doors MAY be removed at temperatures greater than 100 Celsius or 500 Fahrenheit, for all solo and dual flights.
All occupants SHOULD have water available at temperatures greater than 250 Celsius or 770 Fahrenheit, for all flights.
