Military Students

We're Tennessee's No. 1 choice for military-affiliated students, serving more than all other state universities and colleges combined. Whether you're an active-duty military member, veteran, family member or civilian, we work to remove any hurdles you may face while earning your associate, bachelor's or master's degree at one of our three campuses or online. That's why we recently reduced tuition for ALL military-affiliated students, waived application fees and dropped the costs of graduate-level courses.

Reduced tuition at the country's "Gold Standard" military-friendly University

Austin Peay State University is now the only Tennessee university to offer in-state tuition rates to all of the nation's military-affiliated students, which includes active-duty military personnel, veterans, reservists, National Guard members and their eligible family members.

This means that military-affiliated individuals assigned to installations such as Fort Hood, Texas; Fort Bragg, North Carolina; or Fort Knox, Kentucky, can now pay the same tuition rate as Tennesseans wanting to enroll at Austin Peay. We've also reduced the cost of its military student, graduate-level tuition to the Federal Tuition Assistance rate of $250 a credit hour, which will save uniformed military graduate students over $600 in out-of-pocket expenses per course, and we're waiving its undergraduate and graduate admissions application fee for military-affiliated students.

At Austin Peay, we're proud to serve you during your academic careers. The APSU Newton Military Family Resource Center and VetSuccess are designed with military families in mind. We also offer affordable childcare and family/non-traditional housing options at our main campus location. Military spouses are also given an out-of-state fee waiver with proof of orders to Fort Campbell.

Austin Peay accepts the Military Spouse Career Advancement Accounts (MyCAA) program. This spouse scholarship program offers up to $4,000 to certain military spouses who are pursuing degrees, certificates, training, licenses or credentials leading to employment in portable career fields. MyCAA scholarships are available for use at any APSU campus.
