Military-Affiliated Students

We're Tennessee's No. 1 choice for military-affiliated students, serving more than all other state universities and colleges combined. Whether you’re an active-duty military member, veteran, reservists, National Guard, ROTC cadet, retiree or active military family, we work to remove any hurdles you may face while earning your associate, bachelor’s or master’s degree on campus or online. That's why we reduced tuition for ALL military-affiliated students, waived application fees and dropped the costs of graduate-level courses.

Tennessee's top choice for military-affiliated students

At Austin Peay, we're proud to serve you during your academic career. We are invested in your success and have created a division dedicated to our Military-Affiliated Students and their families. The Military and Veterans Affairs Division is comprised of several offices and resource centers trained to help you utilize your education benefits to their fullest. From offering condensed 8 week courses through the Austin Peay Center at Fort Campbell to getting career advise from our Military Transition Career Program we are ready to support your success.

Austin Peay not only focuses on the student but also kept their families in mind when designing areas like VetSuccess and the Newton Military Family Resource Center. We also offer affordable childcare at our main campus location and Military spouses interested in taking classes are given an out-of-state fee waiver with proof of orders to Fort Campbell.

Austin Peay accepts the Military Spouse Career Advancement Accounts (MyCAA) program. This spouse scholarship program offers up to $4,000 to certain military spouses who are pursuing degrees, certificates, training, licenses or credentials leading to employment in portable career fields.

Reduced tuition at the country's "Gold Standard" military-friendly University

Austin Peay State University is now the only Tennessee university to offer in-state tuition rates to all of the nation's military-affiliated students, which includes active-duty military personnel, veterans, reservists, National Guard members and their eligible family members.

This means that military-affiliated individuals assigned to installations such as Fort Cavazos, Texas; Fort Liberty, North Carolina; or Fort Knox, Kentucky, can now pay the same tuition rate as Tennesseans wanting to enroll at Austin Peay. We've also reduced the cost of its military student, graduate-level tuition to the Federal Tuition Assistance rate of $250 a credit hour, which will save uniformed military graduate students over $600 in out-of-pocket expenses per course, and we're waiving its undergraduate and graduate admissions application fee for military-affiliated students.
