9. Maintenance Procedures
The maintenance (MX) status of the aircraft and all discrepancies or “squawks” will be recorded in Flight Schedule Pro (FSPro) operational software. All faculty, staff, CFIs, and students will have access to view the MX status of the aircraft in FSPro. All aviation personnel and students have access to the aircraft logbooks, upon request.
The Director of Maintenance (DoM) will be responsible for the following maintenance operations:

Updating, scheduling, and maintaining the aircraft operational records into FSPro and the aircraft logbooks.

Ensure all scheduled maintenance is updated and monitored using the FSPro software.

Ensure all applicable inspections, repairs, and airworthiness directives (AD) are completed in accordance with and within FAA regulations and methods.
9.1 Aircraft Squawks
Disclaimer: Anyone has the ability to create a squawk and determining the aircraft is unworthy prior to maintenance determination.
Squawk(s) Found During Preflight Inspection

Consult the assigned flight instructor

If deemed unairworthy

Cancel the flight and place a squawk in FSPro
-
Contact AOC for rescheduling and/or aircraft change
-

If flight instructor is unsure, contact maintenance personnel.

If deemed unairworthy
-
Cancel the flight and maintenance personnel will place squawk in FSPro
-
Contact AOC for rescheduling and/or aircraft change
-

If maintenance personnel are absent or unsure of severity, contact the DoM.

If deemed unairworthy
-
Cancel the flight the DoM will place squawk in FSPro
-
Contact AOC for rescheduling and/or aircraft change

Squawk(s) Found During Post-Flight Inspection

Consult the assigned flight instructor

If deemed unairworthy

Place a squawk in FSPro and immediately contact maintenance personnel.

If flight instructor is unsure, contact maintenance personnel.

If deemed unairworthy

Cancel the flight and maintenance personnel will place squawk in FSPro

9.2 Unscheduled Landings Due to Aircraft Malfunction
Disclaimer: Call 911 or emergency personnel, if necessary
Landing at Clarksville Regional Airport (KCKV)

Ensure all personnel in the aircraft are safe
-
Contact DoM at (931) 221-1406 or through Local CTAF 122.8 using the GOV BASE call sign
-
Provide the location of the aircraft
-
Provide the DoM the most information as possible of the malfunction
-
The AOC will make transportation arrangements for the pilots and any passengers
-
The DoM will plan for the aircraft to be transported to the APSU Hangar
Landing at an Airport Other Than KCKV
-
Ensure all personnel in the aircraft are safe
-
Contact DoM at (931) 221-1406 or Chief Flight Instructor at (931) 221-1494. If cell communications are not available, contact the local FBO, to call DoM
-
Provide the location of the aircraft
-
Provide the DoM the most information as possible of the malfunction
-
The AOC will make transportation arrangements for the pilots and any passengers
-
The DoM will determine if the repair can be made at the location
-
If so, the DoM will seek to acquire hangar space, if available.

If must be complete outside, the aircraft will be locked and secured
-

If not, the DoM will plan for the aircraft to be transported to the APSU Hangar
-
-
Once repairs are completed, the DoM and AOC will determine a plan to return the aircraft to KCKV.
Landing at a Location Other Than an Airport
-
Ensure all personnel in the aircraft are safe
-
Contact DoM at (931) 221-1406 or Chief Flight Instructor at (931) 221-1494.

Provide the location of the aircraft
-
Provide the DoM the most information as possible of the malfunction
-
The AOC will make transportation arrangements for the pilots and any passengers
-
The DoM will determine if the repair can be made at the location
-
If so, the aircraft will be locked and secured
-
If on private property, the DoM will contact the owner and see if the aircraft can remain until repairs are completed
-

If not, the DoM will plan for the aircraft to be transported to the APSU Hangar
-
-
Once repairs are completed, the DoM and AOC will determine a plan to return the aircraft to KCKV.
