Aviation Science Risk Management Preface
Risk management is the number one priority in the Austin Peay State University Aviation Program. The intent of this manual is to ensure that all faculty, staff, and students are aware of the University’s policies, procedures, and expectations in order to minimize risk with the goal of eliminating accidents. This manual is to be used in conjunction with the Federal Aviation Regulations, the Aircraft’s Pilots Operating Handbook, the APSU Aviation Safety Manual, and the APSU Aviation Student Handbook.
Everyone has a major role in promoting risk management of the program. We all have the responsibility to keep risk management in the forefront of our minds at all times when we are involved in aviation activities. We must be able to acknowledge, evaluate, and improve and hazardous situations that arise.
