10. Risk Management Programs
10.1 Standardization Meetings
All certified flight instructors employed by Austin Peay State University shall participate in the standardization program.
Standardization meetings should be scheduled during the beginning of each Fall, Spring, and Summer semester. Each employed CFI is required to attend these meetings. Additional meeting may be scheduled if the need arises.
Only the Aviation Science Program Director can waive attendance. However, the CFI is still responsible for reviewing the meeting minutes.
10.2 Annual Part 141 Proficiency Check
Each CFI will receive their annual proficiency check every 12 months after the month in which the CFI last completed their previous proficiency check
The proficiency checks will alternate between the Guimbal Cabri G2 and the Robinson R-44 Raven II, if the CFI is authorized to train in each aircraft.
10.3 Recurrent/Refresher Training
All CFIs are authorized to schedule recurrent/refresher training, annually. This training is for any CFI, employed by Austin Peay State University, to receive training on any particular syllabi flight maneuvers by any authorized check instructor.
APSU Maintenance personnel offer recurrent training on the safe operation of tow equipment as needed, on a continuous basis.
