Camtasia Logo

Camtasia

Camtasia Studio is a screen recording and video editing software. Camtasia lets you record your screen and voice as you demonstrate applications on your computer. Camtasia not only lets you record your screen, but also lets you easily cut and edit the video, import other video and audio files, and overlay text, call outs, and transitions. Once you finish editing your video, Camtasia makes it easy to share your video by exporting it as an MP4, MP3, or GIF file.

Camtasia Features

APSU instructors typically use Camtasia for the following:

  • Recording Lessons - Record lessons that students can access at any time and replay as necessary.

  • Providing Feedback - Provide feedback to students by recording audio, or video and send it to them in an email, or upload it to an LMS.

  • Lessons for Substitute - Leave messages, or recorded lessons for your substitute while you’re out.

  • Audio Recording - Camtasia can record and export audio…it isn’t limited to just recording video. Once you record your audio track, you can export it into an mp3 sound file to use for lessons or for a podcast.

  • Flipping a Classroom - Record your PowerPoint lectures and post them online for your students to view outside of the classroom.

  • Software Demonstrations - Demonstrate how to use a software and share it with your class.

Snagit Logo

Snagit

Snagit is an easy, reliable platform that captures customizable screenshots and records simple videos and audio files. With very robust and feature rich screen capture features, instructors are able to easily get their point across without having to spend a significant amount of time to prepare a traditional presentation.

Snagit Features

APSU instructors typically use Snagit for the following:

  • Screen Shots - Take high definition snap shots of your computers desktop or various websites to be used in course materials.

  • Add Annotations and Effects to Your Screen Shots - Draw your learner’s attention to important details by easily adding annotations and effects to the images you capture with Snagit.

  • Quick Videos - Record simple videos that can be shared quickly.
