Joe Mills
Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs/Director of Housing
Joe graduated from Eastern Illinois University in 1984 and in 1986 with a graduate
degree in Student Personnel/Counseling. Joe's professional experience includes work
at Texas Tech University as a professional hall director, an Area Coordinator at Appalachian
State University, and his current role at Austin Peay State University as Assistant
Vice President for Student Affairs/Director of Housing.
Joe is an active member of ACUHO- I, SEAHO and TACUHO. Joe is committed to making
sure the on campus experience is a positive one not only for the student, but their
entire family.
Joe oversees long range planning, goals, and objectives for entire office; develops
and manages the housing budget, master plan, marketing plan, and departmental assessment
plan; provides facility management of housing projects; participates in PreView Days
and GO events; provides supervision of professional and support staff for office;
develops and oversees residential communities to create engaging learning environments;
and develops and implements the departmental crisis and risk management plan.
Kimberley Morrow
Director of Residence Life
Kimberley has been a part of the APSU Housing/Residence Life and Dining Services team
since 2007 where she has served as the Associate Director of Housing/Residence Life
and the Director of Residence Life. She earned her BA from the University of South
Alabama and went on to obtain her MS from Jacksonville State University. She received
her Ed.S in Administration and Supervision from Austin Peay State University in 2011.
Kimberley also supervises the residence life program including staffing, programs,
and living-learning communities; serves as the CHO in absence of the AVP; provides
direct supervision of the area coordinator staff; serves as the hearing officer for
formal discipline; coordinates the contract release and damage appeals processes;
participates in AP Day and ROW events; manages the residence life budget; oversees
early arrival and late stay request; and oversees surveys within residence life.
Sue Fort
Associate Director of Housing Operations
Sue graduated from Murray State University, Murray, Kentucky with a Masters in Public
Administration while working at Austin Peay State University.
Currently, Sue supervises one clerical staff and the Housing Technical Specialist.
Other job responsibilities includes: overseeing main campus housing assignments; implementation
of emergency housing bid; overflow housing/contract administration; coordinating athletic
housing with coaches; overseeing housing department’s room change administration;
and the processing of resident housing cancellations/withdrawals.
Corey Choate
Director of Housing Services
Corey has worked in higher education since 2010 in a variety of leadership roles. He is an APSU alumnus and has taught as an adjunct instructor at APSU since 2019. He holds a Master of Science degree from the University of Alabama.
Currently, Corey serves as the administrator for the dining services contract; oversees meal plans; prepares the annual housing budget; oversees contracts and bids related to housing and dining; manages dining investment funds; provides oversight for dining capital planning and construction; and supervises dining maintenance.
Alicia Cooper
Assistant Director of Residence Life
Alicia brings a wealth of experience to the Austin Peay Housing/Residence Life and Dining Services team, with a background in residential life positions at the University of Tennessee at Martin and the University of Vermont. She holds a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Tennessee at Martin and an M.A. in Postsecondary Education Administration from Murray State University. Alicia is dedicated to fostering holistic, vulnerable, and restorative approaches in her work.
Alicia responsibilities include supervision of the Area Coordinators; recruitment, selection, and training of paraprofessional staff; hearing officer for formal discipline; assists with the development and oversight of Living Learning Communities; and assists with the development and implementation of the residence life budget
Michael Johansen
Housing Technical Specialist
Michael is a graduate of Austin Peay and a Clarksville native. He joined the housing office after spending two years in the Office of Admissions as an admissions counselor.
Michael serves as the main liaison between Housing/Residence Life and Dining Services and Information Technology. He will maintain the occupancy management and student conduct databases for the department; maintain the departmental webpages; builds and maintains all Banner processes; proccess all billing for student housing and dining; develops and prepares external and internal reports for the department; and serves as the primary contact for StarRez/Banner/Maxient issues for the department.
Vee Terrell-Johnson
Area Coordinator
LaViettriea Terrell-Johnson [“Vee”] received a graduate degree in Social Work from the University of New England, with a macro concentration in advocacy, policy planning, and community development. Vee’s professional experience includes: Legal Assistant, Non-Profit Administration, Addictions Counselor, Assistant Director of Housing Operations, and in her current role at Austin Peay State University, she serves as Area Coordinator for Housing/Residence Life.
As Area Coordinator, Vee oversees the residence hall staff and manages the daily operations at Hand Village, Governors Terrace South/Eriksson Hall, and Harvill Hall. Vee also advises Housing’s Hall Council and WIC Committees. Other responsibilities include, managing budgets for all areas and committees under her supervision, student staff selection and training, roommate mediation, informal disciplinary hearings, and 24-hour on call rotation. Vee has a proven commitment to creating a positive, meaningful on-campus experience for all residents
Anna Goins
Area Coordinator
Anna oversees Castle Heights, Sevier Hall, and supervises the Residence hall staffs.
She also advises the departments social media committee and is coordinates the department
social media channels.
Jonathan Gladney
Area Coordinator
Jonathan serves as the supervisor for Emerald Hill/Two Rivers Apartments, Blount Hall,
Meacham Apartments and Governors Terrace North. They will manage Residence Hall Directors
and Resident Assistants of each respective staff, and advise the Residence Hall Association
and Hall Councils. They will also be responsible for operating departmental committees
that engage and progress student development.
Danielle Douglas
Administrative Assistant III
Danielle assists the AVP/Director of Housing with marketing plans, All State ads,
AP Day, GOV's ROW, presentations, purchasing management, Residency Exemption coordinator,
personnel leave management. They will also do special projects for the AVP/Director
of Housing.
Brandy Crisostomo
Administrative Assistant II
Brandy has worked in higher education for a short time, less than one year. In May of 2019, she received her Associates Degree from Austin Peay State University and plans to go back for her Bachelors. Previously before Austin Peay, Brandy worked on Fort Campbell Army base as a Lead Recreation Assistant for 8 years and is very happy to be here in the housing office for Austin Peay State University.
Brandy's position includes greeting visitors, issuing resident swipe cards and loaner key security inventory, judicial appointments, letters, files, contract release correspondence, process student billing, assist with schedule of student employees, work orders and re-core requests, correspondence, meeting room reservations for 109 and 111.
Cliff Gaines
Mechanic Mechanic
Cliff attended Austin Peay State University from 1982 through 1984 where he majored
in Art. He also attended Chattahoochee Technical College as a student and taught 3D
Animation and Visual as an adjust professor. Cliff has competed in several animation
competitions sponsored by D.E.C.A. Cliff served in the U.S. Army reserves for six
year. Cliff enjoys reading, drawing and building computers for high-end digital graphics
processing. With over fifteen years of experience in mechanical maintenance and repairing,
we’re glad he is part of the Austin Peay Housing team.
Trouble-shoot and repair Dining Services equipment. Perform regularly scheduled preventative maintenance and inspections. Serve as point of contact for all Dining Services contracted work. Install and maintain new equipment. Test and operate all equipment. Maintain exhaust fans and vents for Dining Services. Maintain Dining Services plumping lines. Maintain Dining Services equipment inventory. Determine any need for replacing old equipment.
