Living-Learning Communities

The Department of Housing/Residence Life & Dining Services is committed to fostering vibrant residential communities that integrate living and learning. In pursuit of this goal, we are reimagining our Living-Learning Communities (LLCs) to create immersive, inclusive and dynamic environments that catalyze student success.

Aligned with the Student Affairs Strategic Plan, our LLCs aim to:

  • Enhance academic engagement and achievement

  • Foster a sense of belonging and community

  • Encourage personal growth and development

College of Business - "BusinessGovs"

The College of Business Living-Learning Community provides business students with a supportive and collaborative environment, offering clustered classes and opportunities for faculty-student interaction. Through guest speakers, College of Business events, and service opportunities, students develop deep relationships and engage in experiential learning, promoting academic success and retention. Communications

The Communications Living-Learning Community provides first-year students with an immersive academic experience through linked courses, including COMM 2045, COMM 1200, ENGL 1010, and UNIV 1000. Through coordinated coursework, faculty collaboration, and department sponsored events, students strengthen their writing, speaking, and critical thinking skills. engagement with faculty, alumni, and guest speakers foster professional connections, while shared experiences cultivate a strong sense of community and support student success. Career Success Center - "Career Ambassadors"

The Career Ambassadors Living-Learning Community offers a dynamic, career-focused environment where students build leadership skills, career readiness, and professional confidence. Through mentorship, peer coaching, and engagement with the Career Success Center, students gain hands-on experience while forming meaningful connections. Engage
Student Affairs - Community Engagement & Sustainability

The Engage Living-Learning Community provides a supportive environment for students passionate about social change, empowering them to develop leadership skills and make a positive impact. Students form lasting connections through shared living and academic experiences and contribute to the campus and broader community while fostering personal growth. Living Green
Student Affairs - Community Engagement & Sustainability

The Living Green Living-Learning Community empowers students to adopt environmentally friendly lifestyles through weekly discussions, community-building activities, and staff mentoring. Students explore various eco-topics, such as carbon footprints, recycling, and conservation, while fostering connections with like-minded peers over family-style dinners.
