Qualification Requirements

If you are entering Austin Peay as a new freshman, to be accepted to the Honors Program, you must have a minimum 3.5 GPA from high-school or a score of 24 or better on the ACT. Students must also be free from any proficiency requirements whether in math, reading, or writing. Applicants must clear all proficiency requirements in order to be accepted to the program.

If you are a transfer student or a current APSU student, you must have and maintain a minimum 3.25 college GPA. In order to apply to the Honors Program, please send an email expressing your interest to honors@apsu.edu.

Orientation Dates

While both orientations are mandatory for Honors and PELP students, we understand that life can be unpredictable. If the Spring registration event doesn't work for you because of distance or vacation plans, please let us know as soon as possible. The August Orientation is designed to ensure you still get the full, vibrant campus experience.

Spring Orientation (June 4–5, 2026):

• Register for fall classes.

• Experience fun events organized by Honors Ambassadors.

• Enjoy free overnight dorm stay (Students only! Separate accommodations needed for family members.)

August Orientation (August 18–19, 2026):

• Dive into a unique orientation crafted by current student leaders!

• Explore campus resources, and enjoy tours, games, and networking with other students, faculty, and staff.

• Take advantage of free early move-in and a head start on club involvement.
