Internship Description

Hendrickson USA is seeking 1 intern to support a significant software implementation project. The intern will help implement EAM (Enterprise Asset Management) software as part of the company's QAD Enterprise Resource Planning platform, working from the ground up to set up all assets and equipment at the Clarksville facilities in standardized format. Responsibilities will include creating and configuring preventative maintenance (PM) schedules at daily through annual intervals, setting up inventory management processes for spare parts, and researching potential barcode scanning integration. The intern will also have opportunities for hands-on exposure to industrial equipment and components throughout the project.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Solid computer skills; prior software implementation experience a plus

  • Ability to interpret software documentation and learn new system functions independently

  • Strong communication skills for working with internal personnel and cross-site team members

The internship takes place in a heavy manufacturing environment with adequate lighting and ventilation. The facility is not temperature or humidity controlled. Safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety shoes with metatarsal protection are required on the shop floor.

Tyler Rinehart is a Manufacturing Engineer and Maintenance Supervisor at Hendrickson USA's Clarksville facility, where he has worked for 12 years — two of which were as a consecutive summer intern himself. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Ohio Northern University and currently supervises 19 personnel. His areas of expertise include problem solving, planning and project management, robotic welding, PLCs, and process improvement. Tyler has supervised 9 interns over a 5-year span, 4 of whom went on to become full-time Hendrickson employees — a track record that reflects his commitment to meaningful mentorship and developing emerging talent.
