Internship Description

The Clarksville-Montgomery County Economic Development Council is seeking 1 intern to support Downtown Clarksville revitalization planning. Working directly alongside the Vice President of Urban Development, the intern will help establish a comprehensive plan to improve lighting, parking, design, and economic vitality in the downtown corridor. This is a high-impact opportunity to contribute to large-scale community development projects valued in excess of $2 million.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Knowledge of or interest in Project Management

  • Familiarity with or interest in Artificial Intelligence in business applications

  • Strong communication and organizational skills

  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds on a limited basis

Janet Wilson serves as Vice President of Urban Development at the Clarksville-Montgomery County Economic Development Council, where she leads major redevelopment initiatives, oversees strategic land use planning, and manages complex projects tied to infrastructure, zoning, and economic incentive programs including TIF and PILOT. She plays a key leadership role in cross-sector collaborations to advance transformational developments that benefit both the public and private sectors. Janet previously supervised student workers and interns in the athletics department at Austin Peay State University and brings that mentorship experience to on-the-job professional development in project management.
