Internship Description

CDE Lightband is seeking 2 or more interns to work across various departments. Interns will gain experience in the utility sector while contributing to the company's mission of providing exceptional customer service and reliable utility services. Projects and responsibilities will vary based on department placement and may include technical, administrative, or customer service initiatives.

Work takes place primarily in an office setting on computer-based tasks, with some department placements involving field work site visits. The internship is on-site at 2021 Wilma Rudolph Blvd — no hybrid work is available.

Yolanda Davis has worked at CDE Lightband for 10 years, beginning as a Payroll Specialist and steadily advancing through roles as Payroll Coordinator, HR Specialist, and Senior HR Specialist before being promoted to Human Resources Manager. In her current role, she oversees Recruitment and Talent Acquisition, Employee Engagement, Benefits, and Retirement, with significant responsibility in data tracking, strategic planning, and retaining top talent. Yolanda has managed CDE Lightband's internship program for the past 7 years, previously hosting interns from Tennessee Tech and Lipscomb University, and also assisted with supervising two interns through APSU's inaugural internship program.

Note: Yolanda will serve as the primary contact and internship supervisor, but selected students will also be paired with a designated CDE team depending on their major/career interests.
