THE APSU "GOVERNORS OWN" MARCHING BAND!! The APSU Marching Band is open to ALL APSU students, regardless of major or full/part time status. In fact, about 65% of the APSU Marching Band are not music majors! We perform at all home games, and a few other events throughout the semester.
IT'S NOT TOO LATE TO JOIN THE 2016 GOMB (but it will be soon!) Email the Band Director, Mr. Schnettler ASAP at email@example.com with the following information: -Name, email address, cell phone number -Instrument -A# (APSU student ID number) it's okay if you don't have that yet -High school attended -Major -Will you be living ON campus (dorm) or OFF campus (home/commuter) in Fall 2016 -T-Shirt Size
MARCHING BAND TIME COMMITTMENT (ONLY 5.25 hours per week!) It is VERY important to us that students have plenty of time for academics, job, family, etc. Band is designed to be PART of your college experience, not ALL of it. The APSU Marching Band rehearses Mon/Wed/Fri from 4:00-5:45, and performs on about 8 of the 16 Saturdays during the Fall semester. Also, one week before classes begin, students are required to attend "Band Camp" (all day rehearsals on-campus).
SCHOLARSHIPS FOR ALL MEMBERS OF THE MARCHING BAND! We are proud to award scholarship to ALL members of the APSU Marching Band. First year members can earn up to $950 their freshman year, and this amount increases by $100 each year you return - for a total of $4,000 over four years!! These scholarships are automatic, and based on participation - no need to "apply" for them! For more information on scholarships, please contact Mr. Schnettler firstname.lastname@example.org
MID-SOUTH MARCHING INVITATIONAL MSMI 2016 will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2016! Director/Band applications will be available this summer, or contact Mr. Schnettler directly for the link to the online registration form: email@example.com
GOMB Day 2016 - Saturday, November 12th, 2016
All high school band students are invited to spend a day as a member of the GOMB! We had 358 students join us last year, for a combined band of OVER 525 ON THE FIELD!!
