THE APSU "GOVERNORS OWN" MARCHING BAND!!
The APSU Marching Band is open to ALL APSU students, regardless of major or full/part time status. In fact, about 65% of the APSU Marching Band are not music majors! We perform at all home games, and a few other events throughout the semester.
HOW TO JOIN!
The first, and most important step is to email the Band Director, Mr. Schnettler at email@example.com with the following information:
-Name, email address, cell phone number
-A# (APSU student ID number) it's okay if you don't have that yet
-High school attended
-Will you be living ON campus (dorm) or OFF campus (home/commuter) in Fall 2015
MARCHING BAND TIME COMMITTMENT
It is VERY important to us that students have plenty of time for academics, job, family, etc. Band is designed to be PART of your college experience, not ALL of it. The APSU Marching Band rehearses Mon/Wed/Fri from 4:00-5:45, and performs on about 8 of the 16 Saturdays during the Fall semester. Also, one week before classes begin, students are required to attend "Band Camp" (all day rehearsals on-campus).
Auditions for the 2015 GOMB will be held in April/May 2015 (specific dates announced by March).
WINDS: Send a video to Mr. Schnettler of you playing the APSU Fight Song (.pdf sent upon email request)
GUARD: On-campus audition - prepare a 3 minute routine which includes flag and dance/body work.
PERCUSSION: On-campus audition - prepare the drumline and/or front ensemble packets below.
