HOW TO JOIN THE 2012 APSU MARCHING BAND!
Are you interested in performing with the 2012 APSU Marching Band? Please contact Mr. Schnettler to request information or to schedule an audition, and read the information below.
NEW BRASS & WOODWINDS
A simple 5 minute "minimum skills" audition is all you need! You can make an appointment between 10am-4pm on Saturday, April 21st. Or if you live far away, contact Mr. Schnettler for a distance interview via Skype, YouTube, or DVD. You should prepare two 2-minute pieces of contrasting styles. No scales or sight reading is neccessary.
ALL PERCUSSION (new and returning)
First, contact Mr. Schnettler to establish contact. Percussion auditions will be Tuesday, May 29th from 10am-4pm at APSU. ALL battery and front ensemble (new and returning) must attend that day. If you have a conflict (prom, band trip, etc), you must contact Mr. Schnettler ASAP and we will find a solution. The 2012 warmups will be the audition material. You should prepare BOTH the front ensemble AND the battery excercises - we will want to hear everyone play everything as we find the best fit for you.

ALL GUARD (new and returning)
First, contact Mr. Schnettler to establish contact. Guard auditions will be Saturday, June 16th from 10am-4pm at APSU. New members should prepare a 5 minute routine and bring a CD with your music on it. The routine should include 6' flag and dance/body work - and may also include weapons if you wish. We can provide 6' flags at auditions, but not weapons. If you have specific questions, just ask!
RETURNING BRASS & WOODWINDS
An email declaring your intention to return is due to Mr. Schnettler by Saturday, April 21.
SCHOLARSHIPS & REHEARSAL SCHEDULE
We award scholarship to ALL members of the APSU Marching Band. First year members can earn up to $650 their freshman year, and this amount increases by $100 each year you return. For more information on scholarships, please contact Mr. Schnettler.
Also, we enjoy a limited rehearsal schedule to allow for students' academic studies, jobs, or other personal commitments. We practice M/W/F 4:00-5:45pm, and we often cancel the Friday rehearsal before an "off" weekend. Our students appreciate the time they have for studies, practice, or work.
MID-SOUTH MARCHING INVITATIONAL - OCTOBER 20, 2012 - APSU STADIUM
Save the date! Applications and information available in August 2012. Directors, please contact Mr. Schnettler with questions in the meantime.
