Executive Order 13607 — April 27, 2012 Establishing Principles of Excellence for Educational Institutions Serving Service Members, Veterans, Spouses, and Other Family Members
The Principles of Excellence were developed to strengthen consumer protection for service members, veterans, and their families, and to ensure they have access to the information they need to make informed decisions about the use of their earned educational benefits. These Principles require educational institutions to:

Provide meaningful information about the financial cost and quality of their programs to help prospective students make informed choices about how to use their federal educational benefits

Prevent abusive and deceptive recruiting practices

Provide high-quality academic and student support services to active duty service members, reservists, Guardsmen, veterans, and their family members
