Veterans Education Benefits Office

VEBO Processing StatusLast Updated July 10, 2026

We are currently processing CRFs submitted during the week of June 30 - July 4.

The APSU Veterans Education Benefits office helps active duty service members, veterans, reservists, Guardsmen, dependents, and survivors use VA education benefits at Austin Peay. Our office handles the school certification process — we submit your enrollment to the VA each term so your benefit payment can be released.

The VA handles benefit eligibility. Our office handles everything on APSU's side. For questions about whether you qualify for a benefit or how much you're entitled to, contact the VA at 1-888-442-4551. For questions about the APSU enrollment process, forms, or certification, contact our office.

How your benefit pays affects your APSU bill

Before you apply, understand whether your chapter pays APSU or pays you directly.

Pays APSU Directly

You don't pay tuition out of pocket while your benefits are active — the VA pays APSU on your behalf each term.

  • Post-9/11 GI Bill® — Chapter 33
  • VA Vocational Rehabilitation & Employment — Chapter 31

Pays You Directly

You pay APSU each term, then receive your VA stipend separately — the payment comes to you, not the school.

  • Montgomery GI Bill® Active Duty — Chapter 30
  • VEAP — Chapter 32
  • Survivors' & Dependents' Educational Assistance — Chapter 35
  • Montgomery GI Bill® Selected Reserve — Chapter 1606
