Mudbowl Rules

Only SIX (6) players may be on the court at one time.

Players may only rotate in and out before each team's initial serve. The new player must take the position immediately to the left of the server.

ABSOLUTELY NO TOUCHING THE NET. Any player who touches the net during play will result in a point being awarded to the opposing team.

Do NOT cross under the net at any time during play.

Do NOT block or attempt to block the server's serve.

Each team is allowed a maximum of THREE (3) contacts to return the ball. (A team may only hit the ball three times before sending it over the net.)

If the ball hits the haystacks, it is STILL considered IN-BOUNDS and remains in play.

The tournament will be DOUBLE ELIMINATION. This means your team is not eliminated after its first loss. A team must lose twice before being eliminated from the tournament.

All games will be played to SIX (6) points, including both the winners' and losers' brackets.

The referee's decision is final. What the referee says goes.

NO throwing mud at any participant, official, or spectator.

NO running. For everyone's safety, please move carefully on the muddy courts.

Check-in begins at 3:00 P.M. and ends promptly at 3:30 P.M. All team members must be present and checked in by 3:30 P.M. Any participant arriving after check-in closes will not be permitted to play.

Each participant must present a valid APSU ID during check-in.

Only registered participants who have received an event wristband may participate in Mud Bowl.

A completed liability waiver must be on file for every participant. Anyone without a completed liability form will not be allowed to play.

Mud Bowl will continue rain or shine. Unless otherwise determined by event staff due to unsafe weather conditions, the event will proceed as scheduled.

Maintain good sportsmanship by respecting your teammates, opponents, referees, and event staff.

Most importantly, HAVE FUN!
