Austin Peay's Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Program helps open the door to the professional and graduate worlds.

The baccalaureate program offers two options, the BSN Nursing Major (Pre-Licensure concentration) and the RN to BSN concentration.

The BSN Nursing Major (Pre-Licensure) and RN to BSN concentration also operate under the laws, rules, and regulations of the Tennessee Board of Nursing.

Graduates of the Austin Peay State University BSN program will be able to:

  • Collaborate in safe, cost-effective, quality care using evidence-based practice to support optimal outcomes for individuals and populations within complex healthcare systems.
  • Participate in activities and self-reflection that foster personal health, resilience, well-being, lifelong learning, and support the acquisition of nursing expertise and assertion of systems-based leadership. 
  • Utilize information and healthcare technology to guide clinical decision making across complex systems.
  • Provide inclusive care for diverse populations by identifying social determinants of health and advocating equitable care across a variety of settings.
  • Exhibit nursing ethics, professionalism, and professional values.
  • Synthesize, apply, and disseminate nursing knowledge to improve health and transform care.
