What is the Tennessee STRONG Act?

The Tennessee STRONG (Support, Training, and Renewing Opportunity for National Guardsmen) Act is a tuition assistance program designed to support eligible members of the Tennessee National Guard. This program helps fund education towards:

• A first bachelor's degree

• A first master's degree

• A certificate or diploma from a vocational or technical school

Key Features

• Works in conjunction with Federal Tuition Assistance (FTA)

• Supports the Drive to 55 initiative, aiming to equip 55% of Tennesseans with a degree or certificate by 2025

• Acts as the last payor, complementing other educational benefits

The Tennessee STRONG Act covers tuition and course-related fees. However, it does not cover:
