Getting Ready for Your Session
What to Wear
-
Solid colors work best - avoid white to prevent blending with the background
-
Keep patterns simple if you choose them
-
Layer thoughtfully - start with a simple shirt or blouse, then add a scarf or jacket
-
Press your clothes - wrinkles are difficult to edit out
-
Bring a lint brush to ensure a clean appearance
-
Comfort matters - since photos focus on your face and upper body, wear comfortable pants and shoes
Posing Tips
-
Keep your chin down to shape your face beautifully
-
Avoid straight arms at your sides - try crossing your arms or placing hands on hips
-
Project confidence through your posture and expression
-
Consider removing glasses to avoid glare
-
Turn slightly to one side and drop your shoulder toward the camera to work your angles
Grooming Guidelines
For Everyone:
-
Moisturize your face and lips
-
Bring lip balm for touch-ups
-
Ensure your hair is freshly styled and neat
-
Bring a comb or brush for final adjustments
Additional tips for men:
-
Aim for a clean-shaven face or neatly trimmed beard
Additional tips for women:
-
Consider professional makeup application
-
Experiment with hair up or down across different photos
-
Bring lipstick or gloss for fresh application between shots
