• Cost: Free

• Eligibility: Military-affiliated students (priority); open to all APSU students after the semester starts

• Pickup location: Newton Family Resource Center — in-person only (books are not shipped)

• Return deadline: Last day of class

Who We Serve

Govs Essentials Textbook Rental is open to veterans, active duty service members, reservists, National Guard members, ROTC students, and military family members. After each semester begins, remaining inventory opens to all APSU students on a first-come, first-served basis.

How It Works

Availability is limited and distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. The first week of each semester is reserved for military-affiliated students. Once the semester begins, remaining inventory opens to all APSU students.

All pickups are in person at the Newton Family Resource Center. Books must be returned on or before the last day of class.

• If you move before the semester ends, you are responsible for returning any borrowed textbooks

• Failure to return a textbook will result in a hold on your student account

To borrow a textbook, review the Govs Essentials Resource Agreement and follow the checkout procedures outlined there.

Application and Return Dates

Fall 2026 — Clarksville Campus and Fort Campbell Campus

Textbooks available:

• Military-affiliated students: August 19, 2026

• All other APSU students: August 25, 2026

Returns due: December 12, 2026

Govs Essentials Textbook Rental is closed for inventory during Wintermester.

Spring 2026 — Clarksville Campus and Fort Campbell Campus

Textbooks available:

• Military-affiliated students: January 12, 2026

• All other APSU students: January 20, 2026

Returns due: May 8, 2026

Govs Essentials Textbook Rental is closed for inventory during Maymester.

Summer 2026 — Clarksville Campus and Fort Campbell Campus

Textbooks available:

• All APSU students: May 9, 2026

Returns due: July 24, 2026

Support the Program

The Govs Essentials Textbook Rental program runs entirely on donations — no student fees or departmental budgets fund the textbook inventory. If you have textbooks you no longer use, consider donating them to the MVA Division to help your fellow students.
