Full Honor Orchestra Festival
February 12-13, 2027
We are pleased to announce the APSU Full Orchestra Honor Festival on February 12-13, 2027! Again, this year we will have spots for Grades 7-12 strings, as well as High School woodwinds, brass, and percussion for a Full Symphony Orchestra experience.
Faculty/Clinicians for this upcoming year will include:
Dr. Lani Hamilton, Professor of Music Education & Director of String Project at the University of South Carolina
Dr. Jacob Aaron Schnitzer, Director of Orchestral Activities at APSU
Dr. Emily Hanna Crane, Violin & Viola Professor and String Area Coordinator at APSU
Dr. Kelsey Smith, Cello Professor at APSU
And sectionals led by APSU Applied faculty
We are excited to welcome you and your students to our campus for another wonderful weekend of music, learning, and community!

This event will take place from the morning of Friday, February 12th until the afternoon of Saturday, February 13th. Details TBA.
All students applying are required to either be active in their local school band program, or not attending their local school (virtual/homeschool).
Optional String Audition Excerpts to be considered for principal chair:
Perform your assigned region or district audition literature for your grade level (e.g., Midstate, All-West, All-East, Kentucky Region, etc). No scales are required.
Winds Audition Requirements
AUDITION REQUIREMENTS: Perform your assigned region or district audition literature for your grade level (e.g., Midstate, All-West, All-East, Kentucky Region, etc). All 7-12 grade applicants will submit a video. No scales are required. You will submit this video via link to a YouTube video - be sure the video link works and is set to ‘unlisted’ or ‘public’ (not ‘private’) before submitting.
Percussion Audition Requirements
AUDITION REQUIREMENTS: Perform your assigned region or district audition literature for your grade level (e.g., Midstate, All-West, All-East, Kentucky Region, etc). All 7-12 grade applicants will submit a video. For 10–12 auditions, applicants are required to perform mallet, snare drum and timpani excerpts. For Festival Band auditions, timpani is optional but encouraged. For 7–9 auditions, applicants may select one, two or all three areas to include in their video audition. Applicants who demonstrate proficiency on multiple percussion instruments may be given preference. You will submit this video via link to a YouTube video - be sure the video link works and is set to ‘unlisted’ or ‘public’ (not ‘private’) before submitting.

7-12 Strings may apply through the APSU Honors Full Orchestra Application – Fill out form. Your director or private teacher must be indicated and will be contacted to complete
your application.
HS woodwinds/brass/percussion may apply to both the APSU Honor Band and Honors Full Orchestra (Feb 26-28) through their Honor Band Application – simply check the boxes at the end of the portal indicating that your application is for both festivals.
If you are notified of selection, you will have until January 19, 2027 to complete your registration, including the $60 nonrefundable registration fee, which includes lunch and dinner on Friday.
