Fall 2023 AUDITION INFORMATION

Wind Ensemble & Symphonic Band

 
Signups for audition times will be posted outside of Dr. Wolynec’s office (MMC 160) by August 22. The auditions will be held on Mon/Tues, Aug 28 & 29, the first two days of Fall classes. Be sure to sign up for a slot that does not interfere with your class schedule.

Please arrive a few minutes early, warmed up, with all required accessories/equipment, and with your own copy of the excerpts. A music stand and a chair will be provided. You may sit or stand.

If you are only auditioning for Symphonic Band, only play those excerpts. If you are also auditioning for Wind Ensemble, play ALL of the excerpts for your instrument.

Multi-measure rests may be ignored.

Be prepared to indicate if you are interested in performing in the Symphonic Band as well if you are assigned to the Wind Ensemble.

Symphony Orchestra

Auditions will be held Monday and Tuesday, August 28 and 29. Orchestra excerpts are taken from Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 2 Little Russian.
 
Percussion auditions will only be held Monday, August 28 from 12:20 to 2:30pm. 
 
String auditions will only be held Tuesday, August 29 from 5:30-7:30pm.
 
An audition sign-up sheet will be posted next to MMC 150 by Monday afternoon, August 22 including audition room locations. Rosters will be announced Tuesday evening, August 29 around 8pm. Orchestra will hold its first rehearsal on Thursday, August 31 in MMC 152.
