Music Education at Austin Peay

Student Teaching ClarinetGreetings and Welcome to the Music Education program at Austin Peay State University. Music Education is a challenging and rewarding career in which highly qualified professionals have the opportunity to continue their own creative endeavors as musicians, while providing a solid musical foundation and instilling a life-long love of music in their students. It is our goal to challenge you to grow personally, musically, and professionally as you pursue your music education concentration, and as you begin what we hope will be a successful and long-lasting career as a music educator.

As you consider a degree music with music education concentration, we hope that APSU can help you fulfill your dreams. In recent years, 100% of APSU music education graduates have either been hired as music teachers, or have been accepted into graduate programs. Our world-class ensembles, engaging out-reach programs, supportive students and faculty, and completely revitalized undergraduate and graduate music education curricula have transformed our department into one of the finest music education programs around. Join us to see why we consider APSU Tennessee’s home for music education.
