Rural Education Scholars Program
The Rural Education Scholars Program will identify APSU junior and senior teaching
candidates committed to completing their education degree, then seeking employment
in a rural school district to complete a 3-year teaching contract. Building teacher
capacity in rural schools offers many challenges, such as teacher shortages and hard-to-fill
positions. Preparing more pre-service teachers for employment in rural schools will
address this human capital deficit. If you are interested in becoming a Rural Education
Scholar, please contact Dr. Cheryl Lambert at lambertc@apsu.edu or complete the form linked below.
