The Office of Study Abroad and International Exchange offers numerous opportunities for APSU students, faculty, and staff to engage in international events and connect with international students.

Step 1: Fill out the volunteer web form below.

Step 2: Attend our volunteer orientation session to learn more about your role.

Step 3: Participate in events and activities as scheduled.

Study Abroad Fair: Assist coordinators in sharing study abroad and exchange program experiences at Study Abroad Fair.

International Night: Help manage cultural booths, serve food, and interact with attendees at International Night.

Other Events: Assist with the International Film Festival, International Lectures, and the Global Govs Recognition Banquet.

The Global Gov Meet-a-Family Program provides an opportunity for APSU faculty and staff to host an international student, helping them adjust to their new environment and experience local culture and traditions.

Host Family Role: Engage with the student through activities such as shopping, dining, attending local events, and celebrating holidays.

International Student Role: Share your culture and experiences, helping your host family learn about your home country.

For International Students: Adjust to the U.S., make new friends, and experience local culture.

For Host Families: Learn about different cultures, gain global insights, and build lasting friendships.

Fill out the web form below to join the Global Gov Meet-a-Family Program.

Once applications are received, the Office of Study Abroad and International Exchange will notify host families with their matches.

Host families will contact the student to organize monthly activities.
Note: Singles and couples without children are also considered families.

The Bridge Program is a peer-mentor initiative that connects international and domestic students at APSU to promote cultural exchange and mutual learning.

Monthly Discussions: Engage in conversations about cultural practices, traditions, and academic life.

Educational Activities: Participate in workshops, cultural presentations, and interactive sessions.

Group Excursions: Enjoy visits to local attractions, historical sites, and community events.

Attend the Bridge Program orientation session.

First Friends can continue from semester to semester but must re-apply if they wish to continue.
