JaCenda D. Robinson

Assistant Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer

Provides leadership and is responsible for all aspects of the Human Resources Department including supervision and evaluation of functional area Directors, management and oversight of operations, employee relations, policy development and compliance with federal and state laws. The AVP/CHRO has responsibility for setting the vision and creating strategies and initiatives designed to support APSUs mission.

Director, Human Resources

Works closely with the AVP/CHRO and serves as a partner and resource for the campus by leading and guiding recruitment, staff development and training, and employee relations. Ensures that HR best practices and continuous improvement are implemented across the campus.

Benefits & Compensation Team

Nicole King

Director of Benefits and Retirement Services

Works closely with the AVP/CHRO and is the chief point of contact for all benefits and retirement needs. Provides new employees with an overview of benefits and all APSU employees with a variety of resources and assistance during any life changing events from the time of hire to the time of separation.

Chineita Tinglin

Human Resources Generalist, Leave and Benefits

Manages APSU's employee leave programs, ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant laws like FMLA and Workers Compensation. The HR Generalist, Leave and Benefits processes leave requests, maintains records, advise employees and management on policies, and oversees medical certifications and case management for leaves of absences.

Aaron Litzo

Classification and Compensation Analyst

Facilitates compensation and classification related activities in support of university goals and objectives. Responsible for providing consultative and advisory services to the university community on position classification and reclassification and associated compensation issues and maintaining the university’s Classification and Compensation Program.  

Primary Areas of Responsibility:

  • Conducts initial review, job analysis, and job evaluation of new, vacant, and filled positions to determine the nature of work performed and identify the appropriate classification.
  • Completes requests for reclassification, equity adjustments, in-grade adjustments, and salary range updates and confirmations.
  • Processes educational increases and promotional increases.
  • Maintains data on salary inversion, compression, and equity.
  • Completes CUPA-HR salary surveys and analyzes market conditions to adjust salary ranges as needed.

Human Resources Specialist, Academic Affairs

Under the supervision of the Director of Human Resources, and in collaboration with the Assistant to the Provost (Office of Academic Affairs), the Human Resources Specialist acts as a liaison between human resources and academic affairs.

Oversees office operations to ensure HR provides a transactional and first line best-in-class support services to our employees and supervisors, and ensures processes and procedures are completed efficiently and right first time, every time. As part of our model, Human Resources Business Partners (HRBPs) serve as the first point of contact/liaison for human resource related issues and will work with departments to translate operational needs into HR solutions that drive performance. This model will allow each HRBP to become familiar with the operations and issues in the areas they serve.
