Honors Program Qualifications and Application for Fall 2022

If you are entering Austin Peay as a new freshman, to be accepted to the Honors Program, you must have a minimum 3.5 GPA from high-school or a score of 24 or better on the ACT.

If you are a transfer student, you must have a minimum 3.5 GPA. In order to apply to the Honors Program, please only answer the essay questions below, and send your responses as an attachment in an email to: Honors@apsu.edu.

Your application consists of three items. First, complete the fillable form below. Then, compile the list of academic achievements. Third, compose the essay as directed in the instructions below.

Applications are accepted year round. In the Subject line of your email message, please put "APSU Honors Program Application."

A mandatory orientation will be held August 16th, 17th, 18th 2022 and will have informational sessions and fun activities included!

A) On one page, please list your academic accomplishments including successfully completed AP coursework and/or dual enrollment coursework. Be sure that you have put your name and e-mail address on the top of the page.

B) In an essay of 500-700 words, please discuss briefly the following questions:

1. What are you thinking of studying and why?

2. What do you expect from a university education?

3. What do you hope to achieve by participating in the Honors Program?

Honors students have the option of Honors housing. Honors students have a dedicated space in Govs Terrace South and the option to apply for housing in Harvill Hall. Harvill Hall is not exclusively for the Honors Program but is open to high-achieving students. We offer early move-in dates for Honors students.
