Use Your ID Without Unlocking

Express Mode lets you use your Govs ID Card at readers without unlocking your iPhone or opening the Wallet app. Simply hold your device near the reader. The reader will automatically pull up your Govs ID with a check mark stating "Done" when the transaction is successful.

You can turn Express Mode off if you prefer to require Face ID, Touch ID, or a passcode for each transaction.

To turn Express Mode on or off:

  1. Open your Govs ID Card in Apple Wallet.

  2. Tap the "i" in the top right corner.

  3. Toggle Express Mode on or off.

If Apple Wallet starts requiring Face ID/Touch ID/passcode even with Express Mode enabled, toggle it off and back on to reset.

Conserve Battery Life

The Power Reserve feature (for iPhone X or newer) allows you to use your Govs ID Card for up to 5 hours after your iPhone's battery dies. Simply double-tap the side button and hold your device near the reader.

Express Mode must be turned on to use Power Reserve. Power Reserve does not work if the iPhone was manually shut down.
