FSL Learning Lounge
A Space Designed for How You Learn
Located in Claxton 111 | Monday - Thursday 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

What Is the FSL Learning Lounge?
FSL participants receive individualized study-skill support through the FSL Learning Lounge and campus tutoring partners. The Learning Lounge offers flexible, student-centered support aligned with our motto, “Support for how you learn.”
FSL students have access to one-on-one sessions that foster organizational skills, effective study habits, and academic confidence while minimizing social anxiety. Peer tutors receive specialized training from the FSL Support Specialist at the start of each semester and are required to submit a session report to the FSL office following each tutoring session.

Student (Tutee) Benefits
The FSL Learning Lounge is available exclusively to FSL students and provides individualized, neurodiversity-affirming study-skill support tailored to each student’s learning needs.
In addition, other tutoring services across campus are available to all APSU students, and FSL collaborates closely with these centers to connect participants with qualified tutors when appropriate.
Working with peer tutors helps FSL students feel more at ease, improving concentration on academic tasks and translating support into increased achievement. Peer tutoring also nurtures meaningful tutor-student relationships that strengthen communication, confidence, and social skills—benefits that differ from traditional classroom instruction.
