Biochemistry (CHEM 4310/4311 and CHEM 4320/4321)

I teach the Biochemistry I/II sequence (for pre-professional, chemistry, and biology majors).

The prerequisites for Biochemistry are a year of General Chemistry (CHEM 1110/1120), a year of Organic Chemistry (CHEM 3510/3520), precalculus (MATH 1730), and a semester of Principles of Biology (BIOL 1110). All prerequisite courses must be passed with a C or better.

This is a required course for the chemistry degrees (with teaching chemistry as an exception) and required or heavily recommended for the various pre-professional programs. Combined with the prerequisites, fulfilling one semester of biochemistry will also enable students to earn a minor in chemistry.
