Dr. Ann L. Silverberg Exceptional Community Engagement Award

Honoring a legacy of community engagement.

Named in honor of Dr. Ann L. Silverberg, Professor of Musicology at Austin Peay State University, whose career has been defined by exceptional commitment to the arts both at Austin Peay and throughout the Southeast region. A longtime board member of the Clarksville Community Concert Association, Dr. Silverberg has spent over thirty years building bridges between Austin Peay State University and the greater Clarksville community.

Established by the Center of Excellence for the Creative Arts (CECA) in 2026, this award celebrates individuals, ensembles, or organizations who embody that same spirit:

Community engagement rooted in genuine partnership with the people and places it serves.

In this way, Dr. Silverberg personifies CECA's mission to support the creative arts in the University, the local community, and the Southeast region through the creation, presentation, study, and research of significant and distinctive works of art. What sets Dr. Silverberg apart is her constant outreach, engagement, and presence at CECA and community arts events. Her daily commitment to the arts in our region models what it means to live a life woven into both the arts and the communities that create them.
