Established in 1990, the Community School of the Arts (CSA) at APSU offers a variety
of arts classes for children and adults, from beginning to advanced levels, in the
areas of dance, theatre, music, creative writing, and visual art. The Center of Excellence
for the Creative Arts (CECA, or "seek-ah") took over the management of the CSA in
2017. For more information, call 931-221-7034 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
CSA Child Safety Policy: Parents are asked to drop off and pick up their minor children (under age 18) in person
at the classroom door. CSA instructors cannot allow minors to exit the building alone
or to leave with a non-parent/guardian, unless the instructor has been notified in
writing prior to the class. If your child will be driving to class without an adult,
please notify the instructor in writing. Thank you for your cooperation.
The CSA follows APSU's inclement weather closure status, which is announced by phone
recording on the main campus line (931) 221-7011, posting at www.apsu.edu, through APSU Alert text messaging system, email, social media and area radio and television stations.
CSA adds classes for children with disabilities
This semester’s offerings start Sept. 9, and the school is adding two dance classes
– named Expressions Through Dance – that will embrace a learning environment for children
with disabilities. The class – led by APSU dance major Alexandria Heide – will use
patterns, rhythms and small dances to enhance the students’ creativity, imagination
and motor and socialization skills.
