CSA Policies

CSA Child Safety Policy
Parents are asked to drop off and pick up their minor children (under age 18) in person at the classroom door.  CSA instructors cannot allow minors to exit the building alone or to leave with a non-parent/guardian, unless the instructor has been notified in writing prior to the class. If your child will be driving to class without an adult, please notify the instructor in writing.

Parents in Classrooms Policy
For classes ages 3-5, parents are required to stay for the duration of the class to monitor their child. 

For classes ages 6 and up, parent are not allowed to stay in the classroom but can wait for their child in the building lobby, though they are not required to stay in the building. 

Photo Release
The CSA staff may occasionally take photographs or videos of class activities for promotional materials.  Students or parents/guardians will be asked during online registration for consent.  If the student/guardian does not choose to give permission, the student’s image will not be used.

Code of Conduct
Significant and consistent discipline problems may cause a CSA student to be sent home. If you are asked to leave or pick up your student for disciplinary reasons, the CSA instructor will determine if and when you or your student can return to class.  No refunds will be given for CSA students who are sent home for disciplinary reasons.

Refunds
A refund can be issued for a class if the start day of the class is more than a week out. Summer Camp refunds can only be issued if it is more than a month from the start date. 

Medical Information
When registering for a class, please inform the CSA of any medical needs that may require special accommodations. We are not allowed to distribute medication to students. 

Inclement Weather
The CSA follows APSU's inclement weather closure status, which is announced by phone recording on the main campus line (931) 221-7011, posting at www.apsu.edu, through APSU Alert text messaging system, email, social media and area radio and television stations. The CSA will not make-up classes that are cancelled due to Inclement Weather.
