Important Financial Aid News !!

Summer Financial Aid Information and Application is now Ready !!

There are a number of new requirements for the federal student aid programs due to legislative changes in the Department of Education. These changes could impact your financial aid for the upcoming academic year and in the future. Most of these changes are effective with the 2012-13 school year (July 1, 2012 through June 30, 2013).

Financial Aid Awards For 2011-2012 Aid Year

Effective Fall 2011, there will not be any distinction between main campus and the Fort Campbell campus for financial aid awards.  All terms will be included in either Fall, Spring, or Summer.  An example is if you attend the Fort Campbell campus Fall I, Fall II, and or Fall main campus, any of these terms, or combination of these terms, will be considered Fall Term, this will also apply to Spring and Summer terms.  If you have questions, contact our office at 931.221.7907 or Email: Office of Student Financial Aid and Veterans Affairs

Pell Changes and Information

Beginning Fall 2012, you can only receive a Pell Grant for up to maximum of 12 semesters or equivalent. To find out more information about the aggregate Pell Grant Limit Click Here . For additional overall Pell Grant Information Click Here

Student Direct Loan Changes and Information

Enrollment Changes

Undergraduate students enrolling at the Main or Fort Campbell campus must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours to be eligible for student loans. Graduate students must enroll in at least 3 graduate level hours for summer and at least 4 graduate level hours for all other semesters.

Repeat Coursework Regulations

The Department of Education has implemented new regulations governing repeat coursework.   This regulation applies to full-time undergraduate students.  The regulation has been implemented to improve the pace of graduation completion for students, which in turn should reduce loan indebtedness and preserve grant funding levels. Graduate and Professional Students are No Longer Eligible to Receive Subsidized Loans

  • Effective for loans made for payment periods that begin on or after July 1, 2012, graduate and professional students are no longer eligible to receive subsidized loans.
  • However, if you are a graduate or professional student, you may still qualify for up to $20,500 in unsubsidized loans each year.
