Operated by the Department of Art+Design at Austin Peay State University, The New Gallery is a 1,500-square-foot contemporary art space hosting 3–5 curated exhibitions and one juried student exhibition each academic year. We bring nationally and internationally recognized artists to campus for exhibitions, lectures, workshops, and student studio visits.
All exhibitions and programming are free and open to the public. The gallery is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. following the university's academic calendar and inclement weather policy, with curator-guided tours available upon request.
Land Acknowledgment: We acknowledge the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the Yuchi, Shawnee, and Cherokee First Nations on which we are exhibiting, teaching, and learning.
The purpose of The New Gallery is to promote the mission and vision of Austin Peay State University by hosting engaging and thought-provoking exhibitions of artworks that provide learning opportunities for students, teaching opportunities for faculty, and support the University's commitment to collaboration, critical inquiry, and cultural diversity.
