Mary Lawman
|
Mary Lawman has worked at APSU since the spring of 2017, helping students strengthen the skills that will help them succeed in college. Initially, with the Academic Support Center, Mary worked as the academic alert coordinator. She continues working with students in Student Success as an advisor and student success coordinator. Before moving to Ft. Campbell, Mary worked for McNeese State University as the Fort Polk program coordinator. She has also lived in Virginia and Heidelberg, Germany. Before frequent moves with the military, Mary worked for Saint Joseph’s College in Rensselaer, Indiana, as the assistant director of admissions.

George Watt

George Watt has joined the student success as an advisor since November 2020. He works with students in the College of Behavior Science. He has been advising students since 2006 and has been in education since 2004. He has been an instructor as well has worked in the financial industry, retail and a non-profit museum. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Management at Davenport University in Michigan. He also earned his Master of Art in Organizational Management at the University of Phoenix and his Master of Military History at Norwich University.

Nicole McGlashing

Nicole is a Student Success Professional and advises Liberal Arts – Health Professions and HHP – Public Health, more specifically students with a nursing candidacy. She joined the team in January 2020 as an Administrative Assistant, and became an Academic Advisor for Education and Academic Focus students in May 2021. Nicole is an Austin Peay alum and loves being a GOV! She uses her passion for Austin Peay and student success to help the students she encounters have the best college experience possible!

Maria Harris |
Maria serves as an Academic Advisor for Student Success. Before joining the APSU team, she worked for 8 years as a Project Manager at the University of Kentucky. Maria has been a support to young adults and families for her entire professional career and is excited to bring her passions here to Austin Peay State University. Maria received her Bachelor of Arts from Kentucky State University in 2008, she then continued her education earning a Master of Arts in Education Leadership from Argosy University in 2011.
Maria and her husband are proud parents of 3 children. They have had the privilege of residing in various locations from Ohio to Arkansas, but they are all excited to now call Clarksville, TN home. Maria enjoys live shows, art exhibits, reading and visiting new cities. More than anything she enjoys action packed family time.

Allison Rodriguez |
Allison Rodriguez was born and raised in Reno, Nevada. The military brought her and her husband to Tennessee. Allison is bilingual in English and Spanish. She joined Student Success in 2022 as an Administrative Assistant and became an Academic Advisor in 2023. Allison is passionate about helping people and she looks forward to serving the students and community here at APSU.

Kristen Nanney

Kristen Nanney began serving as a Student Success Coach in the Fall of 2022. She graduated from Austin Peay with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and Psychology. Before serving as a Success Coach, she has worked multiple positions at Austin Peay including the role of Resident Assistant through Housing and was involved with organizations on campus. Kristen is very passionate about helping others and plans to dedicate her future towards doing so.

Jontae Rice

Jontae Rice began serving as a Student Success Coach in the Fall of 2023, but has worked in the Housing department years prior. Jontae graduated from Austin Peay in August 2022 with a Bachelor's in Communications and a minor in History. He is excited to help assist students through the obstacles that may come throughout their college careers.
