Community School of the Arts opens registration for new term of classes

The Community School of the Arts (CSA) at Austin Peay State University has unveiled its second fall term of classes, including a workshop on theatrical makeup in time for Halloween.

Registration for the classes opens on Saturday, Oct. 1, and the term begins on Oct. 25 and runs through early December.

And Charlie Krantz, the technical director in APSU’s Department of Theatre and Dance, will lead the Theatrical Makeup Workshop for ages 8-15 from 2-5 p.m. on Oct. 22.

Here are the classes that will be offered during the new term:

MONDAYS

• Art for Children (ages 6-11) – 4:30 p.m.
• Contemporary Dance (ages 10-adults) – 5 p.m.
• Advanced Art for Children (ages 8-11) – 6:15 p.m.

TUESDAYS

• Art for Children (ages 6-11) – 4:30 p.m.
• Theatre for Children (ages 5-7) – 5 p.m.
• Ballet (ages 8-15) – 5 p.m.
• Jazz Dance (ages 10-adults) – 6 p.m.
• Art for Teens (ages 12-17) – 6:15 p.m.

WEDNESDAYS

• Creative Movement (ages 3-5) – 4:30 p.m.
• Dance for Children (ages 5-7) – 5:30 p.m.

THURSDAYS

• Theatre Tots (ages 3-5) – 4:30 p.m.
• Hip Hop (ages 8-17) – 5 p.m.
• Drawing (ages 12-adults) – 5:30 p.m.
• Acting and Improvisation for Youth (ages 8-15) – 5:30 p.m.
• Hip Hop (adults) – 6 p.m.
• Mixed Media Painting (ages 13-adults) – 7:15 p.m.
