What Is Raise Hand?

Raise Hand is an online request that connects you with your advisor, instructor, or student support staff when you need assistance. It alerts APSU support teams so they can reach out and guide you to the right resources.


When to Use Raise Hand

Use Raise Hand when you:

  • Feel overwhelmed or stressed

  • Are struggling in a class

  • Need help finding campus resources (e.g., tutoring, financial aid)

  • Have a question and aren’t sure who to ask

  • Are facing a personal situation that could affect your academics


Privacy: Who Can See Your Raise Hand?

Only APSU staff or faculty assigned to support you (such as your advisor) can view your Raise Hand. Your alert is kept confidential within student support services.


What Happens After You Submit

  • Your advisor or support staff reviews your submission.

  • You may receive a message or phone call to discuss next steps.

  • You might be referred to a specific campus service (e.g., tutoring, counseling).

  • Track updates in your Navigate dashboard, including appointments, messages, and tasks.


How to Submit a Raise Hand

  1. Log in to your Navigate student dashboard via OneStop using your APSU email and OneStop password.

  2. Select “Raise Hand.”

  3. Choose “Create a Raise Hand.”

  4. Select the reason that best matches your concern (e.g., Academic Support, Mental Health, Financial Help).

  5. (Optional) Add a short note in “Additional Comments” to describe your situation—include class names, deadlines, or specific questions to speed up support.

  6. Click “Submit.”

Tips for a Helpful Raise Hand

  • Be specific about your concern (e.g., “Struggling with math in MATH 101 before the midterm”).

  • Mention any deadlines or time-sensitive issues.

  • Include preferred contact method and times you’re available.
