METC Degree Bridge Program

The BSMLS, MLT to MLS program at Austin Peay State University is designated as a Medical Education and Training Campus (METC) Degree Bridge Program, designed to streamline the path for military-trained laboratory professionals to complete a Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Science. Most students can complete the degree in two years or less.

Tuition for Military-Affiliated Students

Uniformed military personnel utilizing Tuition Assistance (TA) pay just $250 per credit hour in tuition.

The APSU Division of Military and Veterans Affairs provides gold standard support for military-affiliated students, while the Office of Veterans Education Benefits offers individual assistance with financial aid.

About the METC Bridge Program

A bachelor's degree requires 120 credit hours. This program is designed specifically for students who have:

• Graduated from an MLT program accredited by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Science (NAACLS)

• Earned at least two years of work experience as a nationally certified MLT (ASCP or AMT)

Most METC bridge students need 59 semester credit hours to complete the degree. Accepted students receive 17 semester hours of experiential credit for their work experience and can expect to graduate in two years or less.

Because each student's transfer coursework is different, all credits are individually evaluated to determine the remaining hours needed for the BSMLS degree. Every student receives personalized advising specific to their transfer coursework.
