Nursing Specialty Intensive Days
Already thinking seriously about nursing? Ready to go beyond the basics?
Nursing Specialty Intensive Days are designed for rising high school juniors, seniors and incoming college freshmen who want a closer look at specific areas of nursing practice. Each one-day experience focuses on a different specialty, giving you the chance to explore real-world scenarios, clinical decision-making and the unique role nurses play in each setting.
You’ll work alongside APSU nursing faculty and current students while engaging in hands-on learning inside our simulation labs. Using high-fidelity manikins and live patient actors, you’ll step into the role of a nurse and see what these specialties actually look like in practice.
This program is made possible through support from the Clarksville-Montgomery County Community Health Foundation, helping expand access to hands-on nursing experiences for students across the region.

A Commitment to Tennessee
These programs are part of Austin Peay’s broader effort to expand access to healthcare career exploration across Clarksville and the surrounding region, including Fort Campbell and neighboring counties.
By connecting students with hands-on experiences early, we’re helping build the next generation of nurses—right here in our community.
