Geography Awards

Each year the Earth and Environmental Sciences program gives three awards to geography students that recognize academic excellence.

James McCluskey Award

This award goes to the outstanding senior in Geography. The award is based on academic excellence and is named after James McCluskey who was a distinguished professor at APSU from 1989 to 1999 and had an integral role in developing geography programs and the GIS Center at APSU. The award comes with a plaque and a Planet Earth DVD set.

Harry Law Award

This award goes to the outstanding junior in Geography. The award is based on academic excellence and is named for the professor who started the Department of Geography at APSU in 1935. The award comes with a plaque.

Robert Sirk Award

This award goes to the outstanding sophomore in Geography. The award is based on academic excellence and  is named for Dr. Robert Sirk was a well-loved Professor Geography from 1995 to 2019. The award comes with a plaque.
