APSU Paramedic Training
The Paramedic Technical Certificate program is built for those ready to step into high-impact emergency medical roles. It prepares graduates with the skills and confidence needed to deliver advanced care in fast-paced settings, such as ambulance services. In line with the latest U.S. Department of Transportation National Standard Curriculum, the program emphasizes hands-on learning in advanced patient assessment, rapid problem recognition, and life-saving treatment techniques. Through clinical experiences, students gain real-world exposure to emergencies across all age groups—from pediatrics to geriatrics.
This intensive program includes instruction completed over three consecutive semesters (about one year). During the summer term, students complete field-based clinical training, providing valuable, hands-on experience.
Admission to the Paramedic Technical Certificate program is selective and competitive. Applicants must already hold an AEMT license in the state of Tennessee, and the program is not open for general enrollment. Those interested must complete the following steps:

Submit a letter of interest (for Tennessee-licensed AEMTs)

Provide proof of immunizations (MMR, Varicella Zoster, and Hepatitis B)

Proof of Education (High school diploma or transcripts)

Submit transcripts from any prior college coursework (if applicable)

Pass a Paramedic Assessment

Participate in a personal interview

Meet all additional program-specific requirements
This program is designed for motivated individuals ready to take the next step in emergency medical care and make a meaningful difference when it matters most.
The first cohort for this course will begin in August of 2026.
Semester One (August 2026) all inclusive cost is $4193.00
Semester Two (January 2027) all inclusive cost is $3015.00
Semester Three (May 2027) all inclusive cost is $3000.00
