Observatory Nights at Austin Peay

APSU's Public Observatory Nights are a must-attend for astronomy enthusiasts of all ages, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the wonders of the universe and explore celestial objects through state-of-the-art telescopes. Whether you're a seasoned stargazer or just curious about the cosmos, this event offers a unique opportunity to witness the beauty of the night sky.

Attending an Observatory Night

Observatory Nights are held on the Saturday closest to the First Quarter Moon throughout the year unless there is a conflict with a holiday. Start times varying based on sunset. Events typically last 2-3 hours, and temperatures often drop significantly after sunset, so please dress warmly and appropriately for the weather.

Admission is free, but tickets must be reserved in advance. Events are limited to 50 patrons per session to ensure the best possible experience for all attendees. Check our Facebook page for upcoming dates and ticket information.
