Yellow Ribbon Program Benefit

What is the Yellow Ribbon Program (YRP) benefit?

The Yellow Ribbon Program (YRP) was established by the Post-9/11 Veterans Educational Assistance Act of 2008.  The YRP allows institutions of higher learning (colleges, universities, and other degree-granting schools) in the U.S. to voluntarily enter into an agreement with the Department of Veterans Affairs to fund tuition and fee expenses that exceed the tuition and fee amounts payable under the Post-9/11 GI Bill®.

Eligibility for Yellow Ribbon Program (YRP) Benefits

Your eligibility for Post-9/11 GI Bill® is determined by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.  In order to participate in the YRP benefit, you must be eligible for the maximum benefit rate (100%) and have entitlement under the Post-9/11 GI Bill®.

To determine if you meet the VA's YRP eligibility requirements, then review VA's Am I eligible for the Yellow Ribbon Program?
