Collaborative Piano Concentration

The Collaborative Piano concentration develops the skill of collaborative work with vocalists and instrumentalists in large and small ensembles and with soloists. In addition, the pianist learns to assist with theatrical and operatic productions. This is a large career field with many opportunities currently available to the trained pianist. Students gain a firm foundation in their overall knowledge of repertoire and history as well as training in the specifics of work with singers, instrumentalists, large ensembles, and smaller chamber ensembles. The work of a collaborative pianist is full of variety and discovery.
