Employment Workshops
Workshops for international students to get more information on International Student employment procedures, to include on campus employment, Curricular Practical Training (CPT), Optional Practical Training (OPT) as well as OPT STEM Extension opportunities may be offered during the semester, depending upon availability and demand.
- **Please note**: CPT workshops are designed for students who are REQUIRED to have an internship, practicum or other work experience off-campus as part of a course or degree requirement that MUST be integral to the curriculum and DIRECTLY related to the student's major area of study. CPT may only be authorized if its absence would make the attainment of a degree an impossibility and if the work associated with CPT is required for ALL students pursuing that degree.
- OPT workshops are designed for students who will soon be graduating and are interested in applying for authorization to work for up to 12-months after graduation in the U.S.A. OPT workshops will also discuss the option for a 24-month extension for students in a STEM degree program.
Topics include:
- definition of CPT or OPT
- regulations and policies for eligibility and maintaining status
- process for applying
