Study Abroad Committee

Membership:

Chaired by the faculty chairperson of Study Abroad and Exchange. Additionally, membership consists of: one faculty representative from each academic college and Library who has experience with study abroad programs, a representative from Student Affairs (ex officio), a representative from Student FInancial Aid and Scholarship (ex officio), one student representative, the Past Committee Chair will serve up to two years (ex officio) and a representative from Study Abroad and International Exchange (ex officio). 

Terms of Service:

Members will serve a three-year term and can serve two consecutive terms. When consecutive terms have been served, a three-year break must occur before serving again.

Description:

The university study abroad committee oversees the planning, execution, and evaluation of study abroad programs, ensuring they align with institutional goals and academic standards. Comprising campus-wide stakeholders, the committee reviews program proposals, selects partner institutions, and designs curricula that fosters cross-cultural learning. They assess program feasibility, evaluate logistics such as budgeting and safety measures, and offer their input on most matters impacting students' international experiences. Additionally, the committee evaluated the effectiveness of study abroad initiatives, solicits feedback from participants, and continuously refines strategies to enhance the quality and diversity of global learning opportunities available to students.
