Welcome to Austin Peay State University's English Language Institute. We offer English language programs for both international and domestic students.

Who Can Apply?

International F-1 Visa Students

• Students seeking full-time English language study
• Students pursuing both English language and APSU undergraduate admission
• Transfer students from other U.S. institutions

General Admission Students

• U.S. citizens
• U.S. permanent residents
• Other visa holders (B, F-2, J-1, J-2, L-1, L-2, etc.)
• No visa required

Programs Available

Intensive English Program

• Full-time instruction in speaking, listening, reading, writing, and grammar
• Classes held in McReynolds building, APSU main campus

• Flexible scheduling
• Customized content based on student needs
• Available for individuals and businesses

Application Process

Application Fee

• $50 USD non-refundable application fee (for Intensive English Program only)
• Fee valid for one year if the minimum class size isn't met
• No application fee for Private Lessons

How to Apply

Step 1: Submit Application
Choose the appropriate application form:

• F-1 Student Visa Application (for Intensive English Program)
• General Student Application (for non F-1 students)
• Private Lessons Application

Step 2: Required Documents

For F-1 Visa Students:

• Completed online application
• Passport information page copy
• Financial support form
• Bank statement
• Current I-20 and visa page (transfer students only)
• Previous school transcripts (transfer students only)

For General Admission Students:

• Completed online application
• Proof of residency or current visa status (if applicable)

Before Arrival

1. Apply for F-1 visa at U.S. embassy/consulate
2. Complete Travel and Arrival Form
3. Schedule registration session

At Registration

• Original I-20 and passport
• Tuition payment
• Immunization records
• Health history form
• Health insurance proof
