Course Formats
The CSIT department delivers courses in three formats:
Face-to-Face Traditional: A course in which the instructor and the students are in the same classroom at the same time. The class will have a scheduled time and a room location, and will be designated as Face-To-Face Instruction. Students are expected to attend lecture.
Fully Online/Web: All course content, interaction (instructor-to-student, student-to-student), and exams are delivered 100% online via the learning management system and online proctoring. The class will have a scheduled time of TBA and a location of TBA, and will be designated as Online Instruction. Students are expected to meet course deadlines as laid out in the syllabus, course calendar, and/or instructor's instructions.
Desktop Video Conferencing (DVC): Classes are online courses that meet at a scheduled time, allowing the instructors and students to meet in Zoom for lecture and interact in real-time. Although the intention is for students to join lecture at the scheduled time in order to receive the best experience, students are not required to attend at the scheduled time. Instructors will record each Zoom lecture and post the video in the learning management system, allowing students who were unable to attend the live Zoom session to view the lecture. Students who were in the lecture may also review the lectures if they wish. The attendance policy for DVC classes is based on “… timely submission of assignments… ”, which should be mentioned in the course’s syllabus. The class will have a scheduled time and a location of Virtual, and will be designated as Video Conferencing at Scheduled Time. Students are expected to meet course deadlines as laid out in the syllabus, course calendar, and/or instructor's instructions.
