The Transformative Power of Artificial Intelligence @ APSU
The APSU AI Taskforce in conjunction with the Office of Legal Affairs and Organizational Strategy and the Center for the Advancement of Faculty Excellence (CAFE) invite faculty, staff, and students to submit proposals for a one-day symposium exploring the multifaceted world of Artificial Intelligence and its impact at APSU. This symposium aims to foster interdisciplinary dialogue, showcase innovative applications, and equip participants with tangible skills and knowledge in the field.
Symposium Date: Friday, October 31, 2025
Location: APSU Morgan University Center
We encourage proposals that focus on delivering engaging and interactive 45-minute sessions designed to impart a specific activity or skill that attendees can utilize immediately following the session.
Tracks:
- Faculty: Presentations on AI research, integration of AI in curriculum, AI ethics in academia, and innovative AI tools for teaching and research.
- Staff: Demonstrations of AI applications for administrative tasks, data analysis, student support services, and enhancing institutional efficiency.
- Students: Showcases of AI projects, explorations of AI concepts, discussions on the societal impact of AI, and introductory workshops on AI tools and techniques.
Possible Session Topics (not exhaustive):
- Using AI tools for literature review and research.
- Automating tasks with basic Python and AI libraries.
- Understanding the fundamentals of machine learning.
- Exploring ethical considerations in AI development and deployment.
- Leveraging AI for data visualization and analysis.
- Creating AI-powered art or music.
- Implementing AI chatbots for communication.
- Analyzing the impact of AI on specific disciplines.
Proposal Guidelines:
Please submit a proposal (maximum 300 words) that includes the following:
- Title of Session:
- Presenter(s): (Name, Affiliation, Email)
- Track: (Faculty, Staff, or Student)
- Session Description: A brief overview of the session content.
- Learning Outcome: Clearly state the specific activity or skill attendees will be able to perform after the session.
- Intended Audience: (e.g., beginners, those with some technical background, specific disciplines)
- Technical Requirements: (if any)
